So, I know I have been holding on to this $100 Amazon gift card and the idea that we should have a game in Dan's honor. So, what shall we do? I would like to be able to include as many of his old friends as possible, and maybe have a nominal entry fee, to be donated to a charity of which Dan would approve. What do we think?

Well, as I am going to be unable to show up, and likely would not get a chance to play whatever or whenever things atre decided to happen. I voted along with Spike. A small fee, and donate it to something good in Dan's honor.

Well, Megamek would allow more people to participate.

It would, but it would also prevent a entry fee for charity.

Paypal can handle that. Adam When used it for his pictures. I'm not sure what charities he would have gone for. Spike knew him better than I did. It was almost always game talk between us.

it was pretty much all tech talk and work related with me. He had me do a few art things for a couple of sites he was working on. That and stupid people. we laughed about stupid people a lot. Is ther a charity out there trying to cure stupid? I know Dan would support that.

Colonel Bosch would be the best for that. I did not know Dan as well as I should have, either, but he and R. were very close.
I do not know if the Colonel will be joining us. He is one of my favorite people, ever, but none can deny he is a stubborn and mysterious old bird.

For right now, I am assiduously searching for something amazing in healthcare reform, or, as SR mentioned, a cure for stupid. I shall get back to you.

No. I understand that the person whom I would like to avoid is moving away next week, so I shall be able to drop by Games Plus with impunity to drop off the card. I do not know who will be organizing it, or even if it will happen. I do not feel comfortable doing so, and Dan's friend Roland no longer has interest in playing Battletech. Everyone else I have queried is hyper-busy. But I shall do as I have said. Part of why I liked Dan was the fact that he was a man of his word, and it would be an ill thing to fail to remember him by not keeping mine.

Understood. There has been no talk of an August game with Gencon coming up. We'll see what happens. I think the best way to do it, is plan to have it by christmas so we can get some money together. Not every game is accounted for, if you get to one of the earlier games, we can talk about how to run it and organize the collection.
